    Pulmonary Rehabilitation provides support and information to meet the day to day challenges of living with a chronic lung disorder. Our goal is to help you enjoy the highest quality of life with a managed program of professionally supervised activities. 

    What is Claxton-Hepburn's Pulmonary Rehabilitation?  

    Our Pulmonary Rehabilitation program is a comprehensive outpatient exercise and education program for individuals with chronic diseases of the lung. 

    How do I get into the program? 

    A physician referral is necessary. Participants must be medically stable and motivated with a desire to enhance their quality of life. 

    How long is the program?  

    • 24 sessions, two times per week.  
    • Sessions typically last one hour and include cardiovascular exercise and strength training. 


    Where is the Pulmonary Rehabilitation Center?
     

    The Pulmonary Rehabilitation Center is on the first floor of the Medical Center next to the Physical Therapy Department. 

    How much does it cost?  

    Payment for pulmonary rehabilitation may be covered by medical insurance. 

    What should I expect?  

    Once accepted into the program, the pulmonary rehabilitation team will evaluate participants current level of functioning and knowledge about their disease. A program will be tailored to meet the needs of each individual. Each program will include a combination of education and supervised exercise to enhance functional capacity as well as to improve understanding of pulmonary disease and its treatment.
