Brawler. Renegade. Warrior. Not words you would typically use to describe hospital employees. Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center its new employee recognition program, “Claxton Defenders,” shows that these are excellent characteristics in employees to ensure the best care is provided to patients. The following awards were made during a recent awards ceremony.
A Brawler effectively manages challenge and hardship; is strong and confident, and empowers others. The employee recognized as a Brawler was Ashley Ives, RN, clinical coordinator for ICU/ER/Cardiology/Respiratory Therapy. Ashley has been employed at Claxton-Hepburn since 2002. Ashley is positive and fun, yet still demands your effort for all the sake of our patients. She is willing to help wherever she’s needed. She is compassionate and dedicated to her job.
A Renegade is a troubleshooter and problem solver; an innovator; and continuously seeks improvement. The employee recognized as a Renegade was Nate Wray, from our finance department. Nate has been employed at Claxton-Hepburn for a little under a year. Nate is a valuable resource that offers his help without complaint while juggling the day to day demands of the Finance office. He brought with him an expertise in the world of public accounting that has been a huge help to Claxton. His quest to learn shows in his daily work.
A Warrior is a team player; is fully engaged in their role; and dependable and has the power to endure. The employee recognized as a Warrior was Melissa Bezio, patient registration clerk at the Richar E. Winter Cancer Center. Melissa has been employed at Claxton-Hepburn since 2004. Melissa helps everybody. She goes above and beyond for our patients. When you ask Melissa to complete something, you know it will get done. She is dedicated to her job, her co-workers, and her patients. She is always friendly and has a smile on her face.
Each winner received flowers, a recognition certificate, gift cards, a special parking space, and lunch with CEO Nate Howell at a restaurant of their choice. New Claxton Defenders will be recognized each quarter. Employees are nominated by co-workers and supervisors. The Claxton Defenders Employee Recognition Program is part of Claxton-Hepburn’s marketing campaign, “Tomorrow is worth defending.”
