Claxton-Medical Center joined in the celebration of National Hospital Week, May 6-12, 2018 to celebrate hospitals, health systems, and the women and men who support the health and well-being of their communities through dedication and care from the heart. This year’s theme was Caring is our Calling Celebrating National Hospital Week provides an opportunity for Claxton-Hepburn to thank all of the dedicated individuals – physicians, nurses, therapists, engineers, food service workers, volunteers, administrators and so many more – for their contributions that help defend tomorrows. During the week, the Medical Center hosted events, including employee Defender t-shirts and jeans day, patient appreciation day, and an ice cream social. The CHMC Auxiliary organized a bake walk, and the CHMC Health Nuts employee wellness team hosted a wellness event and announced the three winners of a recent essay contest to win a Fit Bit Atlas. The Health Nuts also recently gave employees a chance to trial standing desks. The Health Nuts purchased eight desks, and those who trialed them and liked them were entered into a drawing for a chance to win a desk for their workspace. Shown in the photo are winners of the standing desks, Shannon VanHouse, Andrea Chenier, and Melody Rishe.
