On January 26, 2019, beginning at 10:00 a.m., in its first-floor outpatient surgical unit, Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center will be providing a free hernia seminar and screening. Claxton-Hepburn’s da Vinci robot-trained surgeons, Dr. Michael Oakley and Dr. Noah Zuker, will offer a brief presentation on hernias, the importance of detection, and how robotic surgery is a minimally invasive surgical option. Immediately following the presentation, participants will have an opportunity for a free hernia screening. To register, call the Medical Center’s community relations department at 315-713-5251.
While hernias are more common in men, women can also develop them. Patients can experience groin pain, nausea or a bulge in the affected area. However, some patients have no symptoms, which is why screening is so important. Hernia care begins with proper diagnosis by a professional healthcare provider, such as a primary care physician or general surgeon.
Please join our surgical experts and us to learn about the importance of early detection of hernias and the latest minimally invasive procedure for the repair at Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center. Your tomorrow is worth defending.
