Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center Welcome New Provider

Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center is pleased to welcome Certified Physician Assistant, Rachel Fisher, to Claxton Women’s Services located at 3 Lyon Place, Suite 303, Ogdensburg. Fisher, a North Country native, has a passion for women’s health care. She joins Dr. Kaichun Wei, MD, FACOG, a board-certified physician in obstetrics and gynecology, Dr. Gordon Heiss, DO, FACOG, and Dr. Srinivas Ketharaju, MD, FACOG, and Alesha Pedersen, PA-C. Ms. Fisher is accepting new patients by calling 315-713-6700.
Ms. Fisher earned her Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Biology and a Minor in Business from Clarkson University and then went on to earn her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from SUNY Upstate Medical Center University, College of Health Professionals.
Ms. Fisher has clinical experience in pediatrics, family medicine, general surgery, emergency medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, behavioral medicine, internal medicine, and long-term care.
Ms. Fisher stated, “I am a local who understands the healthcare needs of a small-town community. I have always had a passion for helping out this community and started my healthcare experience as a medical assistant at the Ogdensburg and Canton Planned Parenthood, which propelled me to continue my education to become a PA and work in women’s health.” She continued, “My goal is to help those that live here gain more access to quality OBGYN care through my work as a gynecologist and through providing a helping hand as an assistant to our staff in OBGYN surgeries, all while seeing a familiar face.”
