There are no OUTPATIENT laboratory services available on weekends.

Clinical Lab Services

A medical laboratory is your vital partner in sickness and in health. Lab tests can help you understand your health now, and those results could motivate you to make changes that could improve your health in the future. Bloodwork or urinalysis tests could also help your doctor to identify diseases and develop a proper treatment plan.

About Our Medical Laboratory

The laboratory is staffed by and numerous licensed technical staff members, phlebotomists, and clerical staff members.

The lab is licensed by the New York State Department of Health and it is accredited by DNV.

Our lab staff participates in proficiency programs from the American Proficiency Institute and the College of American Pathologists.

Lab Tests We Offer

Our medical laboratory is licensed to perform tests involving:

For anatomical pathology services, we have a partnership with SUNY Upstate Department of Pathology. If you need unusual, also known as "esoteric," testing, we have a partnership with the Laboratory Corporation of America to provide those services.

We also provide employment drug screening tests for local businesses and agencies.

Special Phlebotomist Services

In addition to performing lab work, we also contract with the American Red Cross. Claxton-Hepburn sponsors several blood drives for the American Red Cross each year, with outreach to the community through local news agencies. We strive to keep an adequate blood supply by enlisting all possible donors.

We also contract with the Red Cross for various blood products, so our hospital patients have an adequate supply when they need it.

Our Medical Laboratory Locations

The Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center laboratory is a full-service hospital laboratory operating 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. If you're admitted to the hospital, we will perform your tests in our lab, and we'll get results to your doctor as quickly as possible.

If you're not admitted to the hospital but you still need laboratory tests, we can help. Outpatient blood draw services are offered at four convenient locations:
