When you're living with a chronic disease like diabetes, there's a lot you can do to take charge of your health at home. And the more changes you make, the better you might feel. At Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center, we want to empower you to take charge of your health. That's why we offer health education classes. These are two of the most popular—and free—classes we offer.
The I Can Feel Better Program, created by Stanford University and utilized nationwide, is designed for anyone living with a chronic condition such as:
You'll participate in two-hour classes, held once per week for six weeks. The classes are fun and interactive, and you'll learn more about how to improve your ability to lead a healthy life, manage stress and solve problems. You'll also have the opportunity to practice new disease management skills. And you'll meet with other people with chronic diseases.

This diabetes education program was developed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and it's made to help people who:
You'll participate in one-hour weekly group meetings for 16 weeks, followed by six monthly touch-up sessions. The program is led by trained lifestyle coaches who can help you develop healthy eating habits, incorporate exercise into your daily life, solve problems and manage stress.
