High-Quality Heart Health Services

At Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center, our highly qualified cardiology experts and state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment have you covered. From diagnosis to treatment to rehabilitation, we're here for you and your heart.

Skillful & Compassionate Cardiologists

Our highly trained and dedicated staff includes board-certified cardiologists who see patients full time. They see people with a variety of heart conditions, including coronary heart disease, heart failure, blood clots, high blood pressure, and atrial fibrillation.

Our youngest patients have access to evaluation and diagnostic services with the support of Pediatric Cardiology Associates, LLC.

State-Of-The-Art Cardiac Imaging

Cardiac imaging is vital, as it allows our cardiologists to understand your heart, your health and what you need in order to feel better. That is why we offer extensive testing options in our cardiac lab.

The lab is equipped with advanced diagnostic equipment that allows us to perform the following diagnostic and monitoring tests:

  • Stress tests
    • A treadmill fitness test can help diagnose coronary artery disease or determine the right level of exercise for you.
  • Cardiac nuclear medicine
    • Our single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) cameras help diagnose heart attacks, artery disease, and poor blood flow.
  • Cardiac ultrasound
    • Our advanced ultrasound tests help diagnose many heart conditions. For instance, our experts have special training in transthoracic echocardiogram (TE) to check on the heart's function. Our TE accreditation shows we meet the highest standards of care.
  • Electrocardiogram (EKG)
    • This test of the heart's electrical activity provides more than 500 measures of heart function.
  • Holter monitoring
    • Around-the-clock monitoring of your heart's activity is available through this test, and the information we gain could be incredibly helpful. For example, this test may indicate that your heart isn't getting enough oxygen, or that it is just working too hard while you're at rest.
  • Ambulatory blood pressure
    • This test helps us monitor your blood pressure for 24 hours, so we can search for unusual or dangerous activity.

Our cardiology lab is staffed by experienced and highly trained experts. This means you won't have to travel far when your doctor orders cardiac testing to check on your heart's health.

After your test, your cardiologist will explain your results clearly, so you'll know just what the test means and what should happen next.

Cardiology Care You Can Trust

Should you need a higher level of care after your test, our experts will make sure you get timely follow-up services. And Claxton-Hepburn offers a number of programs that might help you to adjust. For example, we offer a robust cardiac rehab program that is designed to help you to heal after a serious heart incident.

Treatments provided by our cardiologists include medications, lifestyle changes, and procedures such as cardioversion.

Our cardiologists can also implant pacemaker devices in people who need them to control heart-rhythm problems, such as a slow heart rate. We can also offer follow-up care, to ensure that your pacemaker is working as it should to keep your heart rate steady.
